William Bellamy 1824-Deceased and Emma Bradshaw 1830-Deceased: Marriage Certificate

Certificates

No great surprises with this marriage certificate:

William BELLAMY 1824-Deceased age 23 years married Emma BRADSHAW 1830-Deceased age 20 years at Sheffield on the 11th of September, 1846.

I cannot say with absolute certainty which church they were married at, the entry appears to say 'par church'; is this meant to be an abbreviation of 'parish church'? If so this would have been what is now Sheffield Cathedral

My research proved correct and I can now concentrate on going back another generation.

The father of William BELLAMY 1824-Deceased is recorded as George BELLAMY and I have a entry from the England and Wales Census 1841 showing a wife by the name of Sarah, though as yet I have not researched this any further.

The father of Emma BRADSHAW 1830-Deceased is recorded as William BRADSHAW 1801-Deceased and I have a entry from the same census showing a wife by the name of Elizabeth, again, I have not researched this any further.

Another search of the England and Wales Census 1901 establishes a George BELLAMY age 62 and gives his occupation as 'General Carter and Grocer'. This is undoubtedly my gg Grandfather, since his date of birth is compatible with my GEDCOM.

George Bellamy, 62, Yorks, Sheffield, General Carter & Grocer

So we have a Grocer in the family!

George Bellamy: England and Wales Census 1881 and 1891

I have a George BELLAMY in my GEDCOM file recorded as George Albert BELLAMY 1880-Deceased. This record from the England and Wales Census 1881 records a George BELLAMY being 4 years old. This matches my estimations but I will need to cross check.

The 1891 Briitish Census no longer records Sarah Ann BELLAMY , Blanche BELLAMY and Ada BELLAMY. I notice a very slight change in the address; so did they move or is this just a mistake.

Thank you for these censuses. They are of the family of Ada Bellamy, (b. abt 1874, Sheffield) who married John Joseph Buttery (of Hartlepool, Durham, England).
